Welcome to the Bloomington Quilters Guild!

String Piecing WorkshopWelcome to the Bloomington Quilters Guild of Indiana! Above is Betsy Glassey's string pieced quilt in progress. Betsy taught a BQG summer workshop in string piecing on August 16, 2017.

The purpose of the Bloomington Quilters Guild is to develop an appreciation for the history of quilting and quilters and to promote a continuation of the art in our community. We are a charitable 501c3 not-for-profit organization with 200 members located in Bloomington, Indiana. Please come JOIN US!

May's meeting is Tuesday, May 1, 2018, featuring Catherine Redford, who will be offering a Walking Foot Quilt Workshop on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to finish your quilts on a domestic machine while enjoying all the control of your walking foot. The workshop will begin with a brief discussion of preparing your tops for quilting, including marking and basting. Then you’ll make stitched samples of different styles, including modern grids, matchstick quilting, and spirals. Finally, we'll look at Catherine’s work to inspire you to go home and turn your tops into quilts.

Peruse our website and get to know us a little better. We welcome guests to all of our meetings. To see meetings, workshops and events for our 2017-18 session, visit our Events page.
