Janice Frisch will be our guest speaker on May 7.  Janice’s groundbreaking work on the development of the block-style quilt in the United States was recently published in the book American Quilts in the Industrial Age, 1760-1870. Her presentation is entitled "Early American Quilts and the Development of the Block-Style Layout,"  during which she will walk us through our history of colonial and early American quilting with high quality images of quilts dated between 1718 and 1850. We will learn how American quilts shifted from the British medallion style to the block-style that is viewed as uniquely American today. Her talk will also offer lots of design inspiration.

Our September newsletter (Sept. 2018) features an article Molly Gleeson wrote about Janice.
