OUR Next MEETING is ON Tuesday, June 6

Time: 6:00 PM Social Time
6:30 pm Meeting start
Location: BETH SHALOM and on zoom
BRING AN APPETIZER OR DESSERT TO SHARE!

We will be having a fun and interesting meeting June 6, but not quite what we planned! Janice Arvesen was slated to share her experiences in Poland teaching Ukrainian refugee women to sew. Unfortunately, a last-minute gall bladder issue precluded her from taking the trip. (Janice is doing OK but the 58 donated quilts will be traveling to Poland alone!)

So, as quilters, we’ll “take out the block that didn’t work” and add a new “pop of color” instead!  We’ll start with celebrations: presenting an award to the Volunteer of the Year, drawing the winner of the “Fabulous” raffle quilt, voting for our guild board, sharing Show & Tell.

Afterward, we’ve planned activities to spend time together, learning more about fellow quilters and making new friends. There may even be a surprise for everyone! If you can, bring an appetizer (no meat, no shellfish, no meat by-products such as lard, etc.) or dessert to share. If you don’t or can’t bring anything, please come anyway!

One of the things we haven’t had much time to do at our meetings, and something many of us have asked for, is more time to socialize. So please come to share some treats, socialize and chat with us on June 6!

Raffle Quilt, Fabulous. Drawing at June meeting! Last chance to submit tickets is the start of the June meeting.

JULY Lecture and WORKSHOP

Dale Drake, quilt historian and appraiser, will be our speaker in July. Info will be sent out soon about her lecture on Tuesday, July 11 and workshop the morning of Wednesday, July 12.

Bonus Sew-in Afternoon at the Monroe County Convention Center

Mark your calendars for a quilting afternoon on Wednesday, July 12 at the Monroe County Convention Center. The workshop by Dale Drake is scheduled for the morning only and since we have the Convention Center room for the whole day, we have an opportunity to get together for an afternoon sew day. Come join Guild friends for some summer sewing from 1 pm to around 5:30 pm.

LAST CHANCE to Return Raffle Quilt Tickets

The time is almost here - who will be the lucky winner? The drawing for the Raffle Quilt will be the next guild meeting, Tuesday, June 6.  The last chance to turn in your tickets is the very beginning of the meeting. Get those tickets in!

BQG at Art FAir on the Square

The Bloomington Quilters Guild is participating in this year's Arts Fair on the Square on Saturday, June 24!!  We will be acquainting attendees who come to our booth with our passion for our art and our fun quilting community.

Guild members have already signed up to share a tent, tables and chairs.  What is needed are enthusiastic volunteers to staff the booth in shifts between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM!  The last shift is short but we hope the people who staff this shift will help with tear down.

Please use this Sign-Up Genius form to volunteer to staff a shift! Please contact president@bloomingtonquiltersguild.org if you wish to share one of your projects at the booth or have any concerns or questions.
