The purpose of the Bloomington Quilters Guild (BQG) is to develop an appreciation for the history of quilting and quilters and to promote a continuation of the art in our community. One of our main charity activities is creating and donating community quilts to local groups. JOIN US for our new guild year, Sept. 1, 2019 - August 31, 2020 to support our speaker, community and social programs. We offer many membership benefits.

Our next meeting is November 5, 2019. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Our meetings take place at Beth Shalom Congregation, 3750 E. 3rd Street, Bloomington, IN 47401. Our speaker is quilter and pattern designer Coleen Merte of Northwater Quilts. She will be presenting a trunk show of her work. Coleen is known for taking traditional blocks and updating them in a contemporary fashion. Register now for her “Pink Grapefruit” workshop on Wednesday, November 6. For our UFO Challenge, the #1 UFO is due.

In partnership with the Monroe County Public Library, we’re running FREE Workshops for Beginners on Nov. 16, 2019.

Our own BQG’s Quilts from the Heartland show is held every three years. Next show: Oct. 9-10, 2020 at Bloomington’s Monroe Convention Center.
